This 'Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Awareness' application aims to introduce individuals to the risks when travelling to countries with an IED threat. By better understanding IEDs, how they function and being able to identify where IEDs might be found will help prevent further injury and death caused by IEDs throughout the world every day.
The free section of the app shows how an IED is constructed and how it functions. Included is free access to a selection of IEDs within the IED data-base. This allows individuals to have a better understanding of what an IED visually looks like on the ground. With the in-app purchase to the additional awareness training individuals can view how to avoid IEDs and how to respond if you think you are in an IED incident.
For specific details on IEDs access to the IED Data-base allows viewing of the ‘IEDs by Type’ and the varying IEDs being used throughout the world today. A further single in-app purchase allows access to all categories of the IED database including the ‘Terrorist Groups by Country’ section. This section provides an insight into the Terrorist Groups within a country and the IEDs they may have used or be using today.
Regular updates and customer contributions will ensure this is as up to date and a continually developing application. From within the app by befriending the CAT-IED Facebook page individuals can be part of the Collective Awareness to IED group and have up to the minute news and feeds on IEDs as they happen.
So whether considering, travelling to, or actually in a country with an IED problem individuals can be better informed and aware about the problems of IEDs and what to do in an IED situation.
