Omega-3 fat is essential brain and body food. It is reported to protect against heart disease, dementia, other brain/neurological diseases, and some cancers. Deficiency may lead to multiple organ dysfunction. Count, track, and chart the omega-3 fat (ALA, EPA and DHA) provided by heart healthy foods in your diet. Taking a supplement does not appear to provide the beneficial effects seen with high omega-3 foods, maybe because other nutrients in food are required for absorption and activation.
Use the count and organiser tools to keep a daily record and bar chart illustration of the omega-3 fat in mg and %ADI (Acceptable Daily Intake) provided by 250 heart healthy foods, 55 popular "not heart healthy" foods, and foods you choose to add to the counter in the quantities you’ve eaten.
This beautifully designed healthy diet tool with around 200 photos also provides essential nutritional knowledge for a heart healthy diet and 250 heart healthy foods (including heart-healthy scores).
The interface is easy, quick, and intuitive to navigate, colour-coded, searchable, and zoomable using the pinch screen function. Viewable in landscape and portrait. Specially edited and designed for iPhone, iPad, and iPod screens.
