UCAN GO is a user-led indoor navigation app designed for you to independently visit arts venues with confidence.
Everyone deserves the freedom to independently visit arts venues, no matter what access requirements you may have and with UCAN GO, you can! Within this app you’ll hear overviews and routes developed by young people who are visually impaired. The overviews help you to build a mental map of the building so you can prepare for your visit and the routing feature gives you step by step instructions to get you to your chosen destination. It can take you to your seat, the nearest toilet or other services such as bars or shops within the building. The UCAN GO app can be personalised to suit you and you can choose from three user-friendly colour contrast options, alongside your toilet preference, preferred route audio speed and whether you can use stairs.
UCAN GO is for everyone. After all, who doesn't want to feel confident? Who doesn't want to be independent?
UCAN GO currently supports visitors at the Wales Millenium Centre, Cardiff and the Torch Theatre, Milford Haven. It is our ambition to include more buildings over time. If you would like to talk to us about the UCAN GO Team mapping your venue, please email us on email@example.com.
Co-designed by UCAN Productions and Calvium, this app is part of a yearlong research and development project funded by the Digital R&D Fund for the Arts in Wales, in partnership with the Wales Millennium Centre and The Torch Theatre.
