As an adventure seeker, you’re always on the lookout for the next big thing, or the next thrill you want to get. When you go on adventures there are some things that you need to be prepared for. Whether you’re going on a simple yet exciting camping trip or want to climb one of the highest mountains, there are some apps out there to help you. Here are some mobile apps that are a must if you are a true adventurer.

.

GPS

To ensure that you won’t get lost even if you’re somewhere that has no cell service, you should have a trusty offline GPS that has maps to all the places you plan on visiting on your adventure as well as the best possible tracks for hiking. You can even download a  GPS tracking app which can track others on your trip and know exactly where everyone is. This makes it easier to remain together as a group as well as maintain everyone’s safety throughout your adventures.

.

Trusty weather app

This might seem unnecessary given the fact that most phones nowadays already have their own weather app, but sometimes they are not as trustworthy others. Even if you don’t mind the occasional rain or overall bad weather, sometimes being able to identify whether a storm is approaching or not is a life saver. It will also be your guide for what to wear in general to ensure you don’t get cold or overheat.

Compass app

Most adventurers carry compasses with them, but sometimes compasses break or get lost. Although a compass aren't heavy, it still takes up space in your bag which can be used for other necessities. This is why having a compass app on your phone is a must. It’ll help you find your way wherever you are and it is offline so you won’t need to have cell phone service to use it.

.

First aid app

A first aid app won’t substitute a first-aid kit, but it will replace any first aid book that you might need to carry with you otherwise. Because the app is on the phone, you can have a lot of information with you without having to lug around a huge book. A first-aid app will also be easier to navigate than a book because all you have to do to have a diagnosis is to enter the symptoms found.

.

Wildlife tracker

This is an important app to have if you are spending any amount of time somewhere with wildlife. A tracker will enable you to know what animals you have around you based on scans of footprints and other traces left behind by them. This will aid you in avoiding any dangerous animals which is always a plus.

.

No matter what kind of adventure you go on, whether you’re alone or not, these mobile apps will have you navigating new laces as well as handling various situations easily. These apps don’t take up a lot of space on your phone, but they will have a very large impact on how well your future adventures go.
