Consumer Intelligence Research Partners released a new report looking at how popular each color option was for the iPhone. It found that the space gray iPhone 5S was the most popular choice in the U.S, which is not surprising when both the gold and silver 5S model are facing more supply constraints. Forty-three percent of the 5Ss sold were space gray, 30 percent were silver, and the remaining 27 percent were gold.
For the iPhone 5C, Blue was the most popular choice with 27 percent of the sales, white had 25 percent, green 21 percent, pink 20 percent and yellow just 7 percent. These figures come from a sample size of just 400 consumers though, so they may not be accurate.
Overall, it looks like gold will be the most popular 5S model once the supply issues start to resolve. It was the first to have a delay on the online Apple store and since it’s the "new" color it’ll be popular for those wanting their device to look different compared to the iPhone 5.
