According to French website MacG, Apple will be updating both the 13- and 15-inch MacBook Pros today, with increased amounts of RAM and a slight CPU speed increase. The new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display is to be identified as “J44a.”
We also saw in-store signage from China leaking on Sunday showing that the 15-inch model will see slight CPU speed increases and all models featuring 16GB of RAM. The advertisement suggests that prices will remain the same as current offerings.
This all makes sense given Apple’s previous Mac upgrades this year, which have involved minor improvements and either the same or a fall in price. This is likely due to the delay of “Broadwell” chips from Intel.
