Things Siri can do for you

Siri may be more capable of doing things than you think. Did you know you can ask how many calories are in the soda you’re drinking, how many planes are flying above you, or which password you should use for a new site? For example, if you say, “Wolfram, password,” Siri will give you a secure eight-character password. You can also instruct her (or him, if you choose) to call you by a nickname by saying “Call me xx from now on.”

Other things you can do include learning the Morse Code for certain words, hearing your last text message, teaching Siri to pronounce your name properly (just tell her she pronounces it wrong), and asking her to remind you at a certain time to do a certain thing. If she misunderstands a question or command, tap your speech bubble and correct it. When you’re done, say “Bye” and she’ll be dismissed.

Did you know that you could even quickly navigate to a specific app’s Settings if you hold down the home button while that app is open on your iPad?

If your car is relatively new, you can even ask Siri to play a certain album, artist, song, or playlist through your phone if you hook it up through Bluetooth.
