Today, Apple released the second beta test build of OS X Yosemite to members of its public beta program. iTunes 12 beta was also released for testing. OS X Yosemite is available to download from the Mac Apple Store to those who are involved with the testing program. OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 6 was issued to those members in Apple’s development community just a few days ago. This makes OS X Yosemite beta the first time members of the general public could try out next-gen Mac OS systems in beta mode without being registered Apple developers. OS X Yosemite is slated to come out this autumn, and will introduce new connectivity options between mobile devices running iOS 8 and Macs.
To become a member of the beta test program isn’t difficult; just do a search for OS X Beta Program and you’ll easily find a link to the page that shows you who, what, where, when, and how. Just remember: if you do decide to try out the beta version, back up your device first before installing it. The OS is bound to have a bunch of bugs, which is why they need testers. In addition, it’s likely prudent to install it on a secondary device, not the one you rely on for work or school.
There’s not much to see regarding OS X Yosemite Beta 2 in the release notes other than that the app is appropriate for all users.
As for iTunes 12, aka “build 97,” has had a lot of changes. It will have new streamlined design to make searching easier, support for “Family Sharing,” and improved playlists.
