A model who says her nude photos were hacked and then leaked online because of Apple’s “crappy security” is going to sue the tech company, and she’s gathering people who will join her in the lawsuit. Joy Corrigan said her photos were stolen months before this most recent intrusion where Jennifer Lawrence, Kirsten Dunst, and Kate Upton, among others, became victim to thefts of nude photos.
Corrigan said she reached out to Apple in July but was brushed off and told she had been the victim of phishing and that she should change her password. She did so, but only days later, her account was hacked again. She contacted Apple again but was told the same thing. After the story came out in the press last month, Apple contacted her and denied being responsible. Joy has now gotten herself a lawyer and wants to launch a class-action lawsuit against Apple. Only time will tell if she will be successful in putting together a group of plaintiffs, and if Apple will be held responsible.
