Apple breaks sales record with iPhone 6

In just the first three days, Apple sold a record-breaking 10 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. People excited to get the phone first went in droves to stores and some waited up to 24 hours in a line to get theirs. Last year’s iPhone 5C and 5S hit nine million units, according to a statement released on Monday. CEO Tim Cook said the company could have sold more if Apple had more supply and they are all working to fill all the orders. Apple’s shares went up to US $101.80 as of 8:52 am New York time.

Analysts’ estimates at projected sales; one guessed sales as high as 15 million and others guessed sales would not be as high as last year’s because the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus didn’t go on sale in China. Instead, they went on sale in the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, Hong Kong, France, Puerto Rico, the United Kingdom, and Singapore.

It’s anticipated that new iPads will be released next month to get into stores in time for the holidays.
