iPad Air 2 review

If you’re trying to decide if you want to buy a new iPad Air 2, and you want a drastically different device from last year’s, maybe you should wait. It’s not that there weren’t a lot of changes, because there are tons, both outside and in, but it really isn’t that much different. The biggest thing you’ll notice is how thin it is: it’s now 6.1 mm compared to the 7.5 mm last year’s version was. And it is also a bit lighter.

Other changes you’ll see are a slightly improved color reproduction, and a slightly less reflective screen. Inside, it has a new A8X processor, which makes for faster browsing; as for right now, you won’t see much difference with apps or games but that will likely change once developers start taking advantage of the improved hardware.

Maybe the most noticeable difference you’ll is the Touch ID. Other changes include Handoff, which lets you start something on another Apple device and then continue it on your iPad Air 2, or the other way around. You’ll also enjoy the battery life you’ll get; about 10 hours is the average if you’re watching movies, reading books, browsing, or playing games. If you only use it for random social media check-ins, or a bit of web browsing, you’ll likely be able to go four or five days on one charge.
