How to remotely disable Apple Pay on a stolen or lost iPhone

Sure, it’s not likely that someone could copy your fingerprint in the event your iPhone is stolen or lost, but it’s likely a good idea to disable Apple Pay nonetheless. If you find yourself in this situation, here’s what you should do:

  • Log in to your iCloud account;
  • Choose “Find My iPhone”;
  • Find and choose the device you’ve lost to start tracking it; and
  • Activate “Lost Mode” on the lost device, and make sure you input a phone number and lock-screen message to help get your device returned.

As soon as you enable Lost Mode, all Apple Pay will be disabled until you reclaim your iPhone. When you unlock it with your PIN code, your payment information will be reactivated. The best part is that following these instructions will allow you to track your lost or stolen iPhone.
