Tim Cook said on a conference call that the Apple Watch be shipped starting in April. Until then, Apple hadn’t announced any time frame besides “Spring” as to when it would be released. This is one of the first announcement about plans for the watch since it was unveiled in September. We’ve heard nothing about how much models will cost aside from the basic version that will be $349. The Apple Watch will require an iPhone to use, will have a touchscreen face, a Crown to control navigation among functions, and sensors to detect pulse rate, and app platforms like HomeKit and HealthKit.
Analyst Morgan Stanley has guessed that Apple Watch will generate $8.1 billion in revenue in fiscal 2015; RBC Capital Markets said Apple could “conservatively” make $6.5 billion in revenue from 20 million watch shipments.
