Artist from Florida says Apple stole his style

Brazilian-born Romero Britto has filed a lawsuit in the Southern District of Florida against Apple. He claims that the company and the design firm who produced the “Start Something New” campaign stole his cartoon-like figures and bold, bright colors. The lawsuit was filed on April 6.The campaign shows a rainbow-colored hand putting off wisps of smoke. The ad is shown at retail locations all over the world as well as on the Apple website. The lawsuit demands that the design firm Craig & Karl and the tech giant cease using the images immediately. According to a report by Sun, no monetary demand has been filed as yet, although Britto’s lawyer says it’s going to be in the millions of dollars.
