Apple doubles your iCloud contact card limit without announcement

Apple recently made a change to its iCloud syncing service without fanfare, raising the total numbers of contacts it will store. Before, the limit was 25,000 but now that limit is up to 50,00. According to Apple documents, going over the limit might cause problems keeping changes updated on your devices, and suggests that users tay within the limit.

The syncing limits for reminders, bookmarks, and calendars are the same as before. Right now, Apple allows up to 25,000 events, 25,000 bookmarks, calendars, and reminder entries, 50,000 vCards in your address book, and 100 calendar and reminder lists.

Paid plans will increase users’ limits for $20 a month.
