At its October 4 event, Apple announced two new great sounding apps: iTunes Movie Trailers. There are three important features in Cards as spelled out on Apple's website:

Friends for a day. With Find My Friends, you can choose to temporarily share your location with a group of people. It’s perfect for a weekend camping trip or a day at the amusement park. Share locations for a couple of hours — or a couple of weeks. When the trip is over, the sharing ends, too.

Seek (and hide). With Find My Friends, you make the rules. A notification appears when you get a new friend request. If you give your friends permission, they can see you. Want a little privacy? Go off the grid with the flip of a switch.

Keep them safe. Parental restrictions help you manage how your children use Find My Friends. Controls are quick and easy to set up and require a password to override your settings. That way your kids can have fun — and you can make sure they stay safe.

iOS 5 is required for Find My Friends to work. Cards' concept is not new to the app scene but we do like what Apple will offer. For $2.99 Apple will print, stuff in an envelope, add postage an mail your custom created card anywhere in the U.S. For $4.99 a card can be sent anywhere in the world. What's more, Apple will send you an alert the day the card is scheduled to arrive using the United States Postal Service® Intelligent Mail® barcode. Pretty cool, right? If you choose a photo with GPS data, you can have the app add it to the card, too. Too cool for school! 21 beautifully crafted letterpress designs are available and the cards will be made from premium cotton. We wouldn't expect anything else from Apple. Next up is AirPort Utility. According to the app's description:
"Use AirPort Utility to manage your Wi-Fi network and AirPort base stations, including AirPort Express, AirPort Extreme, and Time Capsule---right from your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch."
AirPort Utility requires iOS 5.

Last up is iTunes Movie Trailers which according to its description, does the following:
"iTunes Movie Trailers puts the newest and most exclusive movie previews in HD in your hands. Browse trailers, clips, and featurettes for the biggest Hollywood blockbusters and independent cinema; view stunning HD photos; explore a year-long calendar of movie releases; find showtimes near you and get ticket info directly from your iPad or iPhone."
Today is a big day for Apple: iOS 5, iCloud, new apps, updated apps, updated Mac OS X Lion and so much more. We know Steve Jobs is looking down from heaven with a big smile on his face. App Store Links: AirPort Utility
