Apple could sell 13m iPhone 5Ss and 5Cs in 10 days

Despite iPhone launches being a huge deal and usually seeing the most sales for that device they don’t really boost Apple’s quarterly numbers. This is because iPhones launch quite late in September and their Q3 earnings end on the 30th of September. So Apple has just 10 days to sell enough iPhones to make a difference. And don’t forget that because almost all technology blogs have been talking about the next iPhone, not a lot of people are buying the current ones now, so Q3 is actually pretty similar to Q2. Q4 is by far the best quarter for Apple since its selling new products just before the holidays.

Anyway, Andy Hargreaves (Pacific Crest analyst) believes that Apple will be able to sell 13 million iPhones between the launch and quarter close; that’s a lot, over one million units a day. It could be possible but Apple may face supply problems like last year. If Apple has improved the supply chain it’s certainly possible. We’ve also seen leaks for several months now so it’s clear that factories have been working on producing the devices for hours.
