Apple posts iPhone 5S/5C schematics online

Apple has posted schematics for the latest devices to its website to allow case makers and modders to develop accessories for the new devices. This is a common occurrence with new devices from Apple. Case makers often make assumptions based on rumors so they’re quick to release their cases for the devices. We’ve already seen a few of these cases available.

These schematics often focus on the new parts of these devices that might be problematic for accessory makers. The 5S one pays a lot of attention to the new home button which needs to be kept clear by cases. The 5C drawing shows some details about the handset like a steel-enforced frame that will double as the multi-band antenna.

If you’re after a case for your device on launch it’s highly advised to stick to official cases from Apple - they’re guaranteed to fit perfectly and the 5S case looks very high-quality. They’re a pricey option compared to third-party cases though.
