A Social Take on Countdowns

The Tikr app is all about giving you an easy and interactive way to follow countdowns. It's like a typical countdown with a cool modern twist. Once the countdown ends each person who is following it will get a reminder by push notification to let them know it has finished.

Think outside the box with this countdown app. Sure, you can use it to count down to a party, concert, or appointment, but you can also use it in other ways. Count down to the season premiere of your favorite TV show, to that much-anticipated concert, to a release of a movie you've been waiting for, or even to a big sale at a popular store. This is basically a reminder app so if there’s something you are planning to take part in, watch, or listen to, this app will be perfect for you!

A Personal Assistant

I like to think of this app as my own personal assistant because I am notorious for forgetting things as they approach. It’s easy to remember those big events but what about the smaller ones that you don’t want to forget as well?

You will need to create an account or use your Facebook account to sign in, which really isn’t a big deal. As soon as you sign in you’ll be able to view a selection of events people are counting down to. You will see the days, hours, and minutes until the event happens, and most have a picture attached. If you find a countdown you want to watch, just “add” it to your list. To find something specific use the search bar on the top. To check out your Tikrs that you are counting down to just tap on “Upcoming."

If you want to create your own Tikr it is a fast and easy process. I have set up a few Tikrs now and they literally took just minutes. You can even search for images within the app to use if you don’t have one yourself. You also have the ability to set events as private or public and then tag friends to watch the events with you.
