Pocket Zoo app review: bring the zoo with you
Introduction
There's no need to head out to the zoo just to enjoy looking at all the adorable animals. The Pocket Zoo app can be used on your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone and is described as a virtual pocket zoo that can go anywhere you do. There are tons of photos, video clips, and information on the animals you'll find within this zoo. This app is just as enjoyable for adults as it is for the kids and you can save your favorite animals so you can go back to them easily.

Unlock a Full Zoo
It should be pointed out that although this app is free to download and use you won't have access to all of the animals. You can unlock the entire app, which gives you all the animals, as an in-app purchase priced at $0.99. The free version is very sparse and feels more like a preview so if you like the app at all you’ll likely want to make this in-app purchase.
The best animal kingdom apps for iPad
This app is a wonderful way to not only enjoy pictures of animals but also to read and learn about them. Kids especially will love all the details they can find about their favorite animals and creatures. In that respect this app can almost act as an education-based one.
Using the App
When you enter the app you are taken to the main screen which is a menu of the animals. Keep in mind the free version only gives you access to a few. I find that this menu is a bit hard to work. It’s just a flip menu that you slide through but it’s incredibly sensitive so instead of flipping through one at a time it scrolls through many. You really need to move very slow if you want to see each individual one. Tap on the animal you want to view to be taken to its screen.
Best iphone and ipad apps
Once the animal appears in full screen I have to say it’s a very under-whelming experience. I’m not sure if it is a bug or what the issue is but the image doesn’t display right. When I try to move around or zoom in pieces of the image flicker and disappear.
Features of the app include being able to save pictures as favorites, set pictures as your screensaver, zoom in (which I have been unable to do), view information, and video clips.

Final Thoughts
The Pocket Zoo app for your iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad is a cute idea however there seems to be some issues with the execution of this one. I definitely feel it needs some enhancing and polishing to provide a better user experience.
