Smart Image Search ™ is an app for iPhone and iPad which makes some big promises but seems to fall short on all of them, so you’ll definitely want to look elsewhere if you’re in need of a reliable image-searching facility for your iOS device.

I really like the idea behind this app so it’s a real shame that it features a fatal flaw that basically makes it completely unusable.

The general problem seems to be that the app won’t connect to the search engine for some users, but for more information on this I would recommend looking at the Pros & Cons section below so you can read a user’s experience with this yourself.

What we have here is a potentially very promising addition to the Photo & Video category of the App Store, providing you with a powerful search engine that is designed to make it easy to find loads of images online.

With this app you can filter your searches based on criteria such as color, transparency, faces, illustrations, and so on. What’s more, the search results display up to 100 images at a time, and you save your chosen images directly to your device’s Camera Roll.

 

Disappointing

The above functionality is what the developer assures us is available from Smart Image Search ™ but I’m not really convinced because I’ve only been able to connect to the search results intermittently and other users have had no success at all.

I really can’t recommend an app that appears to be so unreliable so I would recommend that you look elsewhere for a more consistent image searching utility for your iOS device.

• I really like the idea behind this app but it appears as if there may be some issues with connectivity to the search engine for some users: “I was able to open the app, but when I searched for pictures (even in a broad search) the app just spins and says "loading" for 15 minutes. 
  I'm so disappointed, I had such high hopes for this app. 
  No images or pictures. Total waste of money.”

 

Final Words

Smart Image Search ™ is a major disappointment that seems to be a waste of money so I would definitely like to advise against downloading it on to your iPhone and iPad.
