Kitty Cat Jigsaw Puzzles Book, developed by AkilDev LLC for iPad only, claims to be fun for kids and adults. The book is not a book per se, but is simply a collection of jigsaw puzzles for you or your children to enjoy. As you can guess, all the puzzles are based around cats, but not just the domestic kind. Expect to find all kinds of feline creatures here, ranging from house cats to ferocious lions and tigers. The app weighs in at just over 130 MB which is, in my opinion, quite a lot.

What it Offers

The app doesn’t have a lot to offer, which is why I believe the size of the app is a bit much. The app has about 15 different jigsaw puzzles available for you, but all of them are of similar difficulty. Each puzzle only has 20 pieces and are really easy to finish, which makes me doubt that any adult would really have a lasting fun tome with this app. To put it in perspective, I finished one puzzle in about a minute and 30 seconds, so if I would finish them all back to back it would take me less than 25 minutes. Each puzzle is created on a four by five grid, so there also is not much variety except for the different cats on the puzzles.

How it Works

Basically each puzzle starts with the twenty pieces scattered around the screen. You use your fingers to drag pieces to the right position and as soon as you get close the piece will stick itself in the right position. This makes the puzzle even less challenging, but a lot better for small kids to play around with. As an adult you really won’t find any lasting fun in this, but your children might actually have a lot of fun with this app and it might keep them quiet on a long car journey.

Kitty Cat Jigsaw Puzzles Book is a bit of an odd app out in the App Store. The app has only 15 puzzles that work in exactly the same way; the only difference is the picture that changes every time. The app is therefore perfect for smaller children, but is not at all developed with adults in mind. The app is easy to control and pieces automatically click into place nicely. The end result is actually shown in the background, making it even easier. The app is designed for iPad only and is just over 130 MB.
