Robots for iPad

Price: $1.99

For: iPad with iOS 5.0 or later

Robots for iPad by Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers Inc is a fantastic app for the iPad that gives you a complete guide to robots. You’ll get photos, videos, articles, and animations of more than 100 robots.

You get 360° views of 126 robots, plus technical specs, interactive animations, and more, from 19 different countries. One of the robots you’ll see in the app is Asimo, Honda’s famous humanoid specimen. Others are Google’s self-driving car and NASA’s Curiosity Mars rover. Also included are flying machines, quadrupeds, androids, toy robots, and exoskeletons.

This app is a blend of creepy human-looking robots and kid toys, with tons of info about each one shown. The videos are quite possibly the best feature of the app, because you’ll see how each robot moves around and interacts with the environment.

There is so much information packed into this app that it will take you a long time to get through it all. Added perks like a news feed that provides you with current articles that keep you up-to-date with robotic news. You also get a quiz that tests your knowledge about certain types of robots.Robots for iPad app review

Robots for iPad was updated to Version 1.2 on December 5, 2012. It has a total of 64 ratings with an average of five out of five stars. The app is rated for kids nine and up because some of the robots can be kind of scary.

The user interface is intuitive and the app is really easy to navigate. If you’re interested in robots at all, this is a great app. My favorite is the Asimo robot but the others are really fascinating too.
