Private Photo Vault

Price: FREE

Private Photo Vault by William Sidell is an ingenious app that allows you to lock away your images in a password-protected album.

Some of the features of the app include sharing support via email or text message, slideshow options, a decoy password, and password-protection on the app itself by either a pin lock or a pattern/dot lock.

One very useful – and amusing – feature of Private Photo Vault is the Break-in Report. If someone attempts to break into your vaulted images, the app will snap a picture of the perpetrator, as well as providing you with their location by using GPS.

Private Photo Vault was updated to version 5.1 in early-February of 2013. The current version has a total of 1895 customer ratings with an average rating of five out of five stars. This is a very popular app with over three million users spanning over a dozen countries.

I find the concept and implications of this app rather amusing; however, there is no denying its efficacy in keeping many people out of some very awkward, and potentially embarrassing situations! It's a simple idea, yet definitely an app worth having, because you never know when it may come in handy.

For: iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad with iOS 4.3 or later. Optimized for iPhone 5.
