Quark DesignPad by Quark turns your iPad into a design tool that lets you get creative.

With this app you can make designs on your iPad even while on the go. It uses grid-based design so you can try out different layouts. Perhaps you want to create a party invitation, a postcard, or a poster: you can do so with this app.

Upon completion of your design you can print it, share it by email, or share it on Twitter for all to see.

Features of the app include being able to share your designs instantly, create designs quickly and easily while on the go, in a meeting, or sitting at home, and open your design in QuarkXPress. There are a selection of designs you can choose from when you start your project or you can create your own.

Control the layout grid by using the slider controls.

You can go so far as to customize the number of rows, columns, picture and text areas, and more. Go ahead and adjust the opacity and color on frames and boxes. Copy and paste right into your layout, add floating text and image boxes, and resize/crop/position your pictures with swipe and pinch controls.

This app is a decent option for those looking to be able to design while on the fly. While it's not as feature-laden as some may prefer all the basis are covered and presented in a very sleek and elegant user interface.
