Big Day Lite by Big Day Lite will help you countdown to that big event, day, or project.

This free version of the app gives you animation effects and many of the same features that the full version has. This app gives you a countdown complete with animation effects and full graphics. As a bonus there are no ads to contend with. The app will count down the days left until the event you're anticipating using your own pictures.

Features of the app include being able to choose what picture you have as the background (use your Camera Roll or Photo Album), use animated numbers when flipping, and change the color of the counter frame. You can drag the counter frame on the screen and place it where you like.

When you set up the countdown you'll be able to set a notification for the time and date in which the alarm will go off. You can also share your event countdown on Facebook. If you opt to purchase the full version you'll also be able to use graphics and animation effects, set a number of countdowns, store and create pages for up to 20 events, and even reorder your events.

Big Day Lite was updated on Dec. 4, 2012 and currently has 50 customer ratings with an average rating of three and a half out of five stars.

I liked how easy it was to set up a countdown and the display was incredibly simplistic so that you could clearly read the time left in the countdown.
