Carrying business cards around for all of your contacts would require an entire wallet dedicated to just that and wallet full of business cards would be no fun to have stuffed in your pocket. CamCard lets you take a photo of your contacts business cards and instantly creates a contact in your address book.

CamCard works by using your device’s camera to take an image of the business card that you want to add to your contact information. The image is then scanned for names and email addresses as well as phone numbers which are all used to create the contact.

You can also create your own AR business card. An AR business card is an “augmented reality” card where you have pictures, sounds, links, and other dynamic data. This card can be shared and passed around to other clients via email, QR code and SMS. This gives you the power to put more information on your card and transmit it to anyone, anywhere in the world.

CamCard was last updated to Version 4.0.0.0 on March 6, 2013 and included the AR card technology. There have been 72 ratings for this app with an average score of four out of five stars.

This app is a really great idea for any business type person who carries around business cards or otherwise. It’s easy to use and very functional and I would recommend it.
