Introduction

VoicePark by VoicePark for the iPad helps you locate parking by guiding you by voice. It will direct you turn-by-turn to the parking spot that is nearest to you so you aren't wasting your time driving all around. This is meant for any person who needs to use public parking either on a regular basis or even from time to time so that you won’t have to deal with hassle of finding parking. This app was updated on June 12, 2013 and is currently available in English and Spanish.

User Experience

What's great about the user experience here is that it's very easy to use so that even while you're driving it's simple. All you have to do is listen to the voice navigation as soon as the app's street sensor system is available. It should be noted though that this app only works in select cities but has plans of expanding.

Features

Of course the most important feature of this app is the fact that it is voice-guided directions that you are given. It makes use of real-time information with a goal of parking a vehicle in the city of San Francisco in 45 seconds to 6.5 minutes. Currently in San Francisco the app has information on 50,000 public parking spots and is also available in Oakland, San Jose, Dallas/Fortworth, Los Angeles, and Austin. This really can cut down on your driving time when you know exactly where you’ll be able to park.

I found the idea of this app to be great. I have been annoyed many times circling around a city looking for a parking spot only to end up being late for an appointment or at the very least feeling frustrated at the waste of my time. The time in which the app can find you a parking spot (45 seconds to 6.5 minutes) is really quite incredible and well worth the download just for that reason. The only downfall with this app is that it’s available only in select cities at this point, which will hopefully be changing very quickly. This is also great for visitors to one of the participating cities who are unfamiliar with where to find parking. They won’t have to feel overwhelmed driving around looking for a spot.
