This app provides you with a virtual medical consultation that uses the same kind of questions you would be asked at your doctor's office. The app was released on Nov. 6, 2012 and is available in English and French.

User Experience

The user experience here is meant to feel much like a medical consultation at your own doctor’s office, with all the same types of questions being asked. With that in mind the app almost feels familiar and gives you a sense that it is a thorough examination considering it’s virtual. Using the app is extremely simple and easy to navigate. It’s not loaded with a lot of features nor does it feel busy. It sticks to the basics of how you’re feeling so it can give you a diagnosis.

The creators of the app are obviously of a different language as the birth month is in French, and there are lots of typos and improper usage of words.

Features

When you launch the app you'll want to tap on the questionnaire icon that will take you through the virtual medical consultation. You will be asked a series of questions that will help determine what the most likely diagnosis is, an explanation of your diagnosis, your treatment options, examinations to take, and your risk and success factors/chances.

The app is able to personalize your information so it's not the same as taking a generic quiz in a magazine or newspaper. It uses software that includes the experience and knowledge of spine surgeons so you know you're getting trusted information. In fact the app took two years to create and now features more than 500 illustrations and hundreds of pages of information.

Of course it's important to note that although this app does a very good job at taking you through a medical consultation it should never replace medical advice in person. What it can do is help point you in the right direction, which can be discussed in an appointment with your physician.

I really liked the usefulness of this app. As the developer points out it can’t replace an actual consultation from your doctor in person however it does a great job of giving you an idea of what the issue may be that is affecting your spine. It gives you a starting point to work from. The app was very simple to use and the questionnaire was easy and quick to complete. I liked that there were so many illustrations to help determine and explain your diagnosis as well.

Cons

• It can’t replace a medical consultation with your doctor so even after performing the questionnaire you will still need to see your doctor
• Diagnosis is just “probable” it cannot be regarded as an actual diagnosis
