User Experience

When you first launch the app, you’ll be asked to set up your favorite topics so that BuzzFeed knows what to show you. You can choose from several categories like Politics, Business, Tech, Sports, Ideas, Longform, Entertainment, Celeb, Music, Fashion, Rewind, Animals, Food, DIY, LGBT, and Geeky.

Once you’ve picked those, you’ll see your “My Feed” features the latest content in those categories.

If you wish to read stuff outside of your favorites, that’s easy. Just click on the icon in the top left corner and you’ll see the option to switch among BuzzFeed, My Feed, What’s Hot, and Bookmarks. You can also jet straight to a particular category.

You’ll see categories within sections like News, Entertainment, Life, More, and Best Of. There is so much to look at here, you’ll never be bored. You’ll also find options to rate the app, give feedback, and the Settings section down at the bottom of this list.

I have no idea why this app has such a bad rating. It worked like a dream for me, I love the interface, and the content is fantastic. I can get a mix of serious and lighthearted news and it’s really easy for me to waste time on my iPhone when I have nothing better to do. Now that I think about it, maybe this app isn’t such a great one to have on my phone…
