'Rocket Riot' Is Side-View Shooting Barrage Of Addictive Gameplay

Developed by the Dutch company Codeglue and published by Chillingo Ltd., Rocket Riot is a side-view shooting barrage of addictive gameplay for the iOS. The evil Blockbeard has escaped from jail and he's on a mission to take the legs of every citizen of Blockstonboroughcester … bury … ston. With a jetpack screwed onto the behind, a bazooka at the ready and a quick lesson from Professor M.C. Square, players launch into a 48-level campaign of intense rocket launching madness. Three types of levels await players: Deathmatch, where players destroy all enemies; Destroy the Object, where players destroy all the shiny blocks; and Rugby Riot, where players score goals by throwing a ball through the opposing team's goal. Along with the campaign, there are also extra levels with certain objectives. Each level is unique in design, style, and never repetitive. Power-ups range from multiple rockets to rubber ducky protective shield and the ability to shoot basketballs, cat heads, globes and skulls. There are gag power-ups like the POW flag that turns the bazooka into a toy gun. Power-ups add an element of strategy while keeping the game fresh. Players can replace their current character with the enemies they destroy in the campaign.

There are three control options for players. Swipe turns the left side of the screen for movement and the right side for aiming and firing. Joystick is similar to swipe with the left side for movement, but to aim and fire, players tap the joystick in the bottom right corner of the screen. Tilt is the third option, where tilting your device determines the character movement while aiming and firing is based on the right side of the screen. Rocket Riot for iOS is single player only however, leaving the option for multiplayer out. Despite a lack of multiplayer, Rocket Riot is a comical explosion of 8-bit and modern artwork that blends humorous sounds and music to give players an entertaining, addictive experience.
