Pimp My Text app review: spruce up your text messages with a variety of cool, crazy, and downright funky text styles

Introduction

If you’ve been getting a little bored of using the same old font styles when you send text messages to your friends or use instant messaging services with your Mom, then you really ought to check out this cool way of enhancing your messages with some awesome fonts, colors, and more.

This isn’t exactly the kind of app that I would imagine myself using on a very frequent basis but I would like to note that the developer has done a great job of producing a nice fresh interface with an intuitive layout and some great text pimping facilities.

Using Pimp My Text - Send Color Text Messages with Emoji 2 to, well, pimp your text is a very simple matter.

All you have to do is type your message in the field where specified. Make sure you pay attention to the emoticons menu on the right-hand side of the text field as this will also enable to stick a few Emoji icons dogs, pizza slices, and ice cream sundaes into your message; you can add whatever you fancy!

Once your message is ready to be pimped to the max, hit the Next button in the top-right corner and you’ll then be able to select which font and color you want to use, as well as being able to apply an effect and background to create a truly unique finished product.

There are 12 fonts to choose from and I’m impressed to see that instead of using the same old boring fonts like Arial and Times New Roman, the developer has taken the initiative and added some far more interesting styles such as Anime, Future, Chinese, and Scary.

These are definitely high-quality fonts that you wouldn’t ordinarily find in an application such as Microsoft Word or OpenOffice.

There are two effects to choose from which either add an ambient glow or a background shadow to your text, with both effects being available in a multitude of different colors. The background selection works in much the same way, except that you can also add textured backgrounds with patterns such as brick, wood grain, stars, and even what looks like French fries!
