Two Music Lovers And Two Ear Buds

The concept of Double Player for Music with Headphones Pro app takes me back to taking the bus to school sharing headphones to listen to songs on my Sports Walkman with a friend (yes I'm that old).

The best iPhone apps for music 2021

Back in those days you could only listen to the same song and even then only hear what was produced to come out the Left and Right channel, never getting the full dynamics of the recording.

Double Player for Music takes this old concept to the next level. Now if you are with your partner or friend and only have one device available you can now share a track in all of it's fully produced glory through separate ear buds. It even goes a step forward allowing you to listen to separate songs, without losing any sound quality, through whichever ear bud you have.

The interface is simple. Each headphone has its own player that allows you access to the iTunes library on the device. You can search by song title, artist, or album, and play what you want to hear while your friend can do the same. This way you can chat with your friend and still hear your favorite song, while he or she listen to another choice.

Not only do you have access to your entire music library, you also get your favorite saved podcasts listed in the library. That way even if your friend or partner doesn't care for podcasts, you can catch up on Marc Maron's WTF or SmodCo's Hollywood Babble-On while he or she listens to music.

Best iphone and ipad apps

I had my reservations at first on how the playback would affect the usage of Double Player for Music, but I was extremely impressed with the result.

The sound and dynamics in the playback through one headphone is fantastic; there is no discernable difference between listening to a track using this app and listening to a song on your own with both headphones.

Just keep in mind that Double Player for Music with Headphones is designed for headphone use only. I know most of you out there would have figured that out by just reading the app's title, but I'm doing my best to cover all bases here. I'm sure the developer doesn't need a litany of questions as to why it doesn't work through your device's speakers.
