The Darklings have arrived and stolen all of the stars out of the night sky, draining the life-preserving energy of the light. You take the role of Lum, in an ongoing quest to fend off the Darklings, reclaim the stars, and bring balance back to the world.
This is the kind of game where no sooner have I started playing it, I sit there nodding my head and smiling. I’m thoroughly impressed with every aspect of this game, it looks amazing, features a gorgeous ambient soundtrack, oh, and did I mention how much fun it is!
You guys are definitely going to want to check this one out!
The stars have been stolen, and the only way to reclaim them is to possess and kill each Darkling. It’s a messy job but someone’s got to do it!
This is achieved through an innovative gesture-based control system. Each Darkling has a symbol or sigil hovering above it, and all you have to do is trace the symbol with your finger to possess the creature before destroying it.
Help Lum Recover Them
When you kill a Darkling, it will release whatever stars it had taken, which you need to them collect by swiping your finger and dragging them down to Lum before they float away and you miss your chance.
Every so often, you’ll come across an end-of-level boss which serves to take the gameplay even further. You’ll still be tasked with tracing symbols but you’ll need to keep your wits about you to survive the bosses’ attacks before launching a counterstrike of your own, so keep ‘em peeled for your chance!
I can tell that I’m very quickly going to be utterly hooked on this game, and I strongly urge you guys to go check it out because it really is heaps of fun. The gameplay isn’t particularly varied, but it will test your reflexes and coordination as more and more Darklings approach and you frantically try to fend them off!
