What we have here is a fully featured weather forecasting app which has been designed to provided dedicated coverage for residents of Maryland, complete with live radar map imagery and up to 10 days' worth of advance weather reports.
This is a fairly standard weather app for the iPhone or iPad in terms of the interface and basic functionality, and I think it should serve as an ideal resource for those of you who live in Maryland and want to make a fair assessment of the weather conditions on a consistent basis.
The Map section of WBOC WX is where you’ll find extensive radar map imagery for your local area, displaying rain, snow, and other weather fronts as they make their way across your region.
This screen also doubles up as the main home screen for the app as a whole, and on here you’ll find details of the current temperature, wind speed and direction, and more. You’ll also see a basic summary of the weather conditions for today, yesterday, and tomorrow
Furthermore, I would recommend tapping the house icon in the top right of the screen as this will enable you to use your device’s GPS so that you can get a more accurate weather forecast for your exact locale.
I’m pleased to see that the developer has gone to the effort of adding a Video section to this app. This is where you can see live streamed and archived weather forecast footage from the good folks over at the WBOC studios.
If you prefer a more conventional format for your weather forecasts then the 10 Day and Hourly sections should be more than sufficient, providing a full breakdown of the high and low temperatures, chance of precipitation, humidity, and much more for the coming week or so.
Within the 10 Day section you can also tap on specific days to bring up even more detail, including sunrise and sunset times, UV Index, and even a basic text summary of what kind of conditions are expected on that day.
WBOC WX is a very solid weather forecasting app which definitely stands apart from comparable developments in terms of both its form and function.
If you guys are looking for a meteorological resource for your iPhone and iPad that you can really depend on, then I really don’t think you can go too far astray with this one.
This app definitely receives my recommendation!
