Grandma's Garden app review: plant the perfect garden 2021

Reviews

Introduction

For most of us around the country it's a little too cold to get out there and enjoy some gardening, so instead we've got a children's app that's filled with outdoor fun.

The best flower apps for iPhone

The Grandma's Garden toodlers app for your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone is meant for preschoolers to give them an engaging, fun, and educational experience when it comes to gardening.

By the time gardening season actually begins, your child will have a green thumb for it, or at least a virtual green thumb because of this iPhone toddlers app.

Is this one of the best toddlers apps for iPhone and iPad? Keep reading our Grandma's Garden app review to find out.

Mixing Fun with a Little Education

In this app kids will be working with "Grandma" to plant the perfect garden. The fun comes into play with the fact that the veggies are rather silly. There are seven mini-games, narration by Grandma herself, videos that are meant to give an educational spin on gardening, and Grandma's bag is filled with surprises.

If you're familiar with the Grandpa's Workshop app this one is from the same developer and uses the same sort of concept.

As mentioned this app is ideal for kids ages one through to five. The app was actually developed by parents of young children and an educational psychologist so that you know the content and the manner in which it is presented is perfect for kids.

This app has an almost-perfect customer rating score, which doesn’t surprise me in the least. It gives kids imaginative play opportunities, fun and cute graphics, fabulous sound effects, interesting videos, and plenty of activities.

Having Fun Planting

This isn't just about plunking some items in the garden and watching it grow; instead, the app approaches it as an educational opportunity. Kids will be working on identifying and matching shapes, learning their colors, learning their letters, counting, and more.

Each of these areas sticks to the basics so as not to overwhelm the kids. For example they work on the numbers one through eight, a handful of common vegetables, eight colors, and eight shapes.

The activities all take the form of mini-games which are child-friendly and offer a stress-free environment. Speaking of child-friendly one thing parents will love about this app is that the menus/options/settings aren't accessible by kids so there is no need to worry about them getting into things they shouldn't.

Kids could technically play this one on their own but it’s recommended you play with them so you can enhance the learning experience as they play.
