Feed Features

It may seem like Mobile Scanners - Police, Fire, EMS and Weather Radios has far too many feeds, but the developer's objective seems to be to cater to everyone. So you can find your favorite feeds and add the mall to your list of Favorites. You also have the option of adding a custom audio feed.

One feed I thought was particularly worth mentioning was the Missing Children feed. It comprises of a list of missing children from across the USA and is categorized for easy searching as well as constantly updated.

The intuitive and engaging user interface will automatically detect your location when you turn on the Location services. If you do this, the app will quickly tell you the address of your current location. This app also has features such as shake-to-hide, if you wish to keep your feed viewings private and want to quickly navigate away from it, or if you simply need to quickly make notes or take a call.

What's more is that Mobile Scanners - Police, Fire, EMS and Weather Radios also has a Background Audio option, which means that your chosen audio feed runs while you use other apps, enabling you to multitask as desired.

ScannerHUD Technology

Mobile Scanners - Police, Fire, EMS and Weather Radios enables you to really listen in and figure out all the jargon used by the cops, the fire department, Emergency Services, and many more niche services that allow you, over time, to learn how they communicate. This also keeps you in the loop about what's going on in your locality, your country, and the other countries where the feeds are hosted from.

Featuring a window called ScannerHUD which displays details about each feed, along with the state flag, as well as tappable buttons integrated with social networks, Mobile Scanners enables you to share the feed at anytime! ScannerHUD is a separate window on this app which can be dragged around on the interface with all these options, making it a feature which is unique to this app.

Share your favorite feed with your loved ones via Facebook or Twitter by using the URL. This does not necessitate the possession of this app for it to work.

Final Words

I personally don't enjoy the action-packed EMS and Fire Department feeds, and the police feeds were suspiciously boring and monotonous. Mobile Scanners - Police, Fire, EMS and Weather Radios is a nice app to have on my iPhone and iPad for certain moods and days where I just want some background noise, but there are other similar apps available for free which will do the same for me. This is just about subjective taste though; it might float your boat!
