This iPhone and iPad app has been designed for those of you who are thinking of visiting any of the Universal parks this year. It is complete with a guide to all of the rides, restaurants, events, and other attractions so that you can make the most out of your time there.

The user reviews that this app has received have been a fair bit, shall we say, unapologetic, and I wish I had some kinder words to add to the mix but this app has left me fairly disappointed on all fronts.

It’s not that this is an entirely terrible development but there are so many better examples in the Travel category of the App Store (some of which are cheaper) that I simply cannot recommend this app to those of you who really want to experience everything that the Universal parks have to offer.

Easily Navigate the Universal Parks

Universal Studios Guide has been put together with the intention of compiling all of the relevant information you’ll need while visiting Universal Studios and the other Universal parks. All of this information is available offline so that you won’t need to pay for roaming charges to access it.

The best iPhone apps for videographers

Within the app you’ll find the current menus for restaurants and other restaurants at the parks, as well as a full schedule of all the shows and other attractions that are dotted around. Rides also come complete with their own entries and extensive descriptions so you know exactly what to expect.

 

Visit Harry Potter and Friends

Also worth noting is that this app includes the new World of Harry Potter attraction, so you’ll find loads of information about this and much more.

The app as a whole works relatively well, with little to complain about in the way of lag, crashing, or other bugs, but it just feels a little uninspired, and personally I would much rather use one of the ‘wait times’ apps that are available in the same category.

Cons

• I would much rather see a $0.99 price tag, if any, as I feel this would be far more appropriate to this caliber of app

 

Final Words

Universal Studios Guide should get the job done if it’s all you have available on your iPhone and iPad, but there are better options available so I’d suggest taking a look at some others.
