None of us like to be pestered by unscrupulous telemarketers and overbearing debt collectors, so this iPhone and iPad app has been designed to help you perform reverse lookups on phone numbers to find out exactly who is bothering you.

As someone who has basically had to discard a few cell phones because of obscene numbers of sales calls and texts, and I can definitely vouch for the value of an app like this for anyone who frequently receives annoying callers.

This app is really little more than a hyped-up telephone directory but being able to reverse look up numbers is incredibly useful in preventing things from escalating too much once your phone number has been bought and sold umpteen times.

Who Keeps Calling You?

If there’s one thing that drives me absolutely nuts, it’s sales calls and automated robot-voiced lines that incessantly dial and dial and dial... so I’m pleased to say that Lookup+ by PrivacyStar is the answer to such annoyances!

For me, the worst part of it all is having worked in sales for many years. I say this because most telemarketers just don’t have a clue how to speak to people, let alone how to effectively close a sale! If they’re going to pester you with calls they could at least learn their craft a little!

One very cool feature of this app is that you can actually file complaints against unlawful callers, as well as telemarketing and debt collection violations. The features are very clearly laid out and your complaint will be filed with the FTC to ensure further investigations are made.

This is a great idea to me because if enough people report this kind of thing, eventually the FTC will take the hint and put these awful operations out of commission (if you’ll excuse the unintentional sales pun)!

Either way, it definitely provides some peace of mind when you know who is calling you, so whether or not you decide to file any complaints I would still recommend taking this app for a spin as I think you’ll get a lot out of it.

Lookup+ by PrivacyStar is a very good addition to the Productivity category of the App Store, and I’d really like to see more people taking action against the two-bit operations that bother people and try to scam the vulnerable or ignorant.
