Super - Memory app review : a really basic memory game

Reviews

Introduction

Developer Yanling Yang decided to have a go at a memory game with Super - Memory. It isn't really a game, but more like a simple remember-the-characters app. The app is designed for both iPad and iPhone and is just over 7 MB.

Gameplay

The game has three different difficulty levels. These are created very lazily as in easy mode you simply have to remember numbers, in hard mode you remember letters, and in master mode you remember long strings of both. I’m pretty sure that if you play this enough, your memory will actually get better, though you would hope that a developer could come up with a better way to do it. In the end, this game is an extremely simplified version of Simon Says, and doesn’t have a shred of originality in its content. You input your answers using the keyboard of your device and there is absolutely no time limit, making the app easier than expected.

Graphics and Sound

There is absolutely nothing to say about the graphics and sound of this game as the developer has put nothing of any effort into creating this app. You’d think that any developer would at least find something to make the app more attractive for the users, but regrettably this is not the case with this game. There is also no sound that is worth mentioning, making this game probably the worst presentation I have seen in a long while. The one good thing I have to say is that the app doesn’t have any in-app purchases and is completely free of charge.

Conclusion

If you really are desperate to train your brain but you don’t want to spend any money, I would still advise against this game. This is just a really lazy effort from the developer and the design and graphics really don’t offer anything spectacular. I can only suggest that if you want to train it, buy a Wii U and download brain training there, as it’s fun, well-designed, and actually proven to be good for your brain. The app is just over 7 MB and is compatible with both iPad and iPhone.
