There is even a reading tips section that is meant to be used by parents. This book isn't just a fun story though; it's also been created to help kids develop language skills.
The Caillou: Show and Tell app is all about encouraging the development of language skills. The app has been specially created for kids ages five and under, most of whom will be very familiar with the lovable Caillou character. The story takes place at Caillou's daycare where all the kids, including Caillou, need to bring an item for show and tell. Caillou is having a hard time deciding what he should bring to school and the fun ensues. The book offers an interactive experience and fabulous illustrations and graphics. Kids won't want to put this one down.
In its last update there were some bug fixes and improvements made, as well an all new tutorial has been included. As of right now the app doesn't have any customer ratings or comments.
Parents can discuss the book as they read
A Unique Method
It's very important to point out that Caillou: Show and Tell uses a shared reading method which was actually developed with the McGill University Child Phonology Lab. What that means to you is that kids will really benefit from this app and get the ultimate reading/learning experience. And as for the content, Caillou is of course the character who is found in the wildly popular PBS KIDS TV series. The series follow Caillou on new and exciting adventures that always have a lesson attached to them, just like this book app does.
The way this app works is that you encouraged to read to and with your children so you can discuss things as they pop up and ask your child questions. What's cool is that as the parent you aren't left in the dark wondering when you should be piping in because there are prompts that will show up that let you know it's a good place to stop and start a conversation. Some of the interactive and cool features include being able to choose your own avatar, tap on a word to hear how it sounds, tap on animations, the ability to record your own voice as the narrator, and more.
