November is Model Railroad Month. If you’re a model railroad fanatic, then you probably love all things trains. This app will be perfect for you.

Railroad Story by Alawar Entertainment, Inc is a simulation app that has you taking out a bank loan and building a railroad.

Your goal is to become the most successful railroad tycoons in the world. You’ll have to build railways that will bring supplies and settlers to small towns to help boost their economy. You get 18 missions in this app, with no in-app purchases. There are almost 100 different towns to explore and help develop.

You get a cool view of the starter towns and the surrounding countryside. Build the tracks between these towns by tapping the screen. Trains will arrive and you will tap again to send them on their way. Pay attention, though, because you have to make sure they don’t crash.

This sim, although it has quite a few grammatical errors throughout, and a simple UI, is fairly addictive and any player who enjoys sims will probably like this game quite a bit. It’s easy enough for new players to quickly pick up, and the missions are developed in such a way that the game doesn’t need an ebook worth of back-story or instructions.

The app is on its first version, released in July of 2012. It’s available in 10 languages including English, and currently has 33 customer ratings with an average of 4.5 out of five stars. Customer feedback comments are positive.
