Icon Pop Quiz by Alegrium is an app that challenges you to name popular TV shows, movies, characters, and famous people using visual clues.

Your goal with the game is to respond as quickly and accurately as possible.

There are more than 600 hand-drawn icons for you to guess. If you need help to figure out a clue, there are five ways to do so: Hint, Eliminate Keys, Open Letters, Ask A Friend, or Reveal. Hint will give some basic knowledge about the TV show or movie; Eliminate Keys will remove some incorrect letters; Open Letters will help you figure out the correct word; you can ask a friend on Twitter or Facebook; and finally, if you really can’t guess the right answer, you can use some of your points to Reveal the answer.

If you like any of the icons and want to use one as your wallpaper on your iOS device, you can! Just be aware that some people may have trouble saving icons; all you have to do if you experience this is to make sure your settings are turned on in Settings>Privacy>Photos for Icon Pop Quiz.

The game is ad-supported but you can remove the ads with an in-app purchase of $1.99.

Icon Pop Quiz was updated to Version 1.21 on December 20, 2012. The update made some minor bug fixes. The current version has 11,297 customer ratings with an average of 4.5 out of five stars.

This is a great game that will definitely stay installed on my iPhone. I’ve used it to pass some time on long train rides and even short waits at appointments. I highly recommend it.
