Worry Free Traveling

The App Store is full of travel related apps – there are apps that help you find accommodations, apps that help you find the best restaurants in the area, and apps that help you find things to do on your travels. Antris does none of these things – this app is designed as a safety net for the traveler.

If you’re familiar with the idea of leaving a trail of breadcrumbs so that you can find your way back home then you’ll understand the principle behind this app.

It leaves electronic breadcrumbs behind so that friends and family can track you down if you go missing or if you’re injured. It’s a great use of technology to allow you to enjoy the great outdoors with peace of mind.

Antris is a simple app and it does include a brief walkthrough that explains how the app can benefit you, but it doesn’t have any real set of instructions. It’s pretty simple to figure out, but it would still benefit from including a basic set of instructions.

The app does require you to sign up, which includes providing your cell phone number – if you’re not comfortable with this you will not be able to proceed as this is a required step. The Antris app will require 11.8 MB of available space on your IOS device.

The Essentials

After you’re finished with the sign up process getting started with Antris app is pretty simple. The app will ask for permission to use your current location as the start of your travel plan, which you’ll want to allow so that the app can work as it’s supposed to.

To set a checkpoint you simply tap on the start here icon and enter the name of the location, the time and date, as well as any other notes you want to make about this location.

To add family members as followers so that they’ll know where you are, you simply tap on the followers tab and enter their name and email address – the app will then send them emails when you add a new checkpoint. As you travel along you simply repeat this procedure to add new checkpoints. It’s that simple.

There’s a menu in the top right corner of the app where you can change your profile information. You can also access travel plans that you’ve previously used from this menu as well.

If you’re traveling a route you’ve been on before this is pretty handy and will save you a lot of time. You can also leave feedback with the developer from this menu as well if you like.
