Baseball Slam app review: baseball meets pinball in this crazy multiplayer smashfest

Introduction

What we have here is a unique spin on America’s best loved sport, baseball, with all plenty of mayhem to unleash every time you take a swing with your bat.

With eye-popping graphics, destructible levels, and loads of unlockable content, Baseball Slam is going to keep you occupied for quite some time.

Another Home Run from Zynga

This game features some serious baseball carnage as you swing your way through dozens of challenges; more than 100, in fact, and completely obliterate any competition who dares to stand in your way.

Baseball Slam boasts some very interesting and very unique game mechanics, involving levels you can actually destroy depending on how good your swing is.

Add to this a whole cavalcade of unlockable features, including characters, baseball bats, and progressively difficult levels, and you’ve got yourself here one heck of a baseball challenge, unlike anything you’ve seen before.

Each challenge will see you graded based on your performance; do you have what it takes to achieve three stars on every level?

What’s more, you can challenge your friends online in multiplayer mode to see who has really been honing their skills!

Another thing worth noting is that you will notice some pop-up ads from time to time, but they’re not very intrusive so I think Zynga Inc. has done a great job of staying true to their user base, not bombarding us with ads and in-app purchases.

Despite this, there doesn’t actually appear to be an ad-free version of Baseball Slam available yet, but this is a very new release, and a great one at that, so I can’t see the developer passing up the opportunity to capitalize on yet another fantastic game.

Final Words

As you might expect from a Zynga Inc. app, this is one very entertaining baseball game; if you’re looking for more of a standard, straight-up baseball game, this probably isn’t the game for you, but if you’re looking for something with a little – well, a lot – of extra zest, you absolutely must check out Baseball Slam!

One thing I really love about this game is that I like it even though I really don’t care for baseball at all. That may sound strange but Baseball Slam, for me at least, has just the right mixture of normal sports action and silly spontaneous action to keep things interesting and original.

The graphics are also jam-packed with loads of eye candy, all backed up with some pretty amusing sound effects, and let’s not forget those all-important unlockables of which there are plenty to keep you coming back for more.
