AE app review: shop for the hottest seasonal styles

Introduction

If you like American Eagle Outfitters and Aerie clothing, you’ll absolutely love this app; all of the latest additions are here and you can even use the integrated barcode scanner to save the details of items you find in-store so you can share your latest style suggestions with your buddies.

This is a very nicely designed app with a great layout which is split up into His and Hers sections for American Eagle Outfitters and Aerie respectively; I have a fast Internet connection and the navigation seems rather sluggish between sections, but this is a very decent app overall.

As soon as you start up this app for the first time you’ll immediately recognize the class and quality that you’ve come to expect from AE.

This is a shopping app for the most part, but aside from simply being a catalog of products, you’ll find some great tips and suggestions for new styles so that you can outfit yourself in the coolest way possible.

Depending on what kind of look you’re trying achieve, you’ll find different outfits laid out with each individual component clearly explained, reviewed, and priced so that you can instantly place an order once you’ve found what you’re looking for.

 

The AEREWARDS section is another great addition which you can log into using your Facebook account; I always like using Facebook registration and logins simply because of the amount of time it saves.

Once you’re in, you’ll be able to earn points on things like purchases and even by uploading photos from within the app, so make sure you take some shots to show off your hot new looks whenever your order arrives because it can earn you some pretty decent discounts on future purchases.

• Loading between screens and different sections seems unnecessarily slow

 

Final Words

I’m a little concerned by how slow this app is running for me but I’ve been able to access all of the different sections without too much difficulty so this is more of a minor inconvenience than anything else.

I’m glad to see the addition of the barcode scanner because trying to remember items or having to take pictures in-store isn’t exactly ideal, so this is a great way of piecing outfits together in your own time or recommending products to your friends.

Overall, I think this is a great app, and if you’re a frequent shopper at AE then you’d be doing yourself a massive disservice by missing out on downloading this and taking advantage of the AEREWARDS section.
