Mobiscope app review: keep a close eye on things by accessing your cameras remotely

Introduction

Mobiscope is the perfect home security solution, enabling you to remotely access IP cameras and even simple webcams from your iPhone so that you can keep tabs on what’s going on in your home, office, or anywhere else in the world.

As well as enabling you to access your own personal cameras remotely, you can also view some very cool cameras which are streaming live from locations all over the world, from Belgium to Belarus to Bombay, making for some very interesting spying opportunities!

Home Security Like Never Before

Setting up this app for the first time is relatively simple; all you need to do is create an account over at the Mobiscope website, add the name of your computer to the relevant list, and then insert that into the app itself.

From here you can adjust settings such as whether or not to password protect the computer, and within a few minutes you’ll be well away, spying and monitoring your way to a more secure home and office environment.

 

Extras

The Public Cameras section of this app is also well worth taking a look at if you’re interested in having a sneak peak at different locations across the world.

Right now I’m looking at an up-to-the-minute shot of an airfield in a Russian city called Polyany; this kind of thing might not be for everyone but I find it absolutely fascinating!

This app is available for free so I would strongly recommend hooking it up to your webcam even if you just want to have a good laugh watching what your pets get up to while you’re at work all day.

Final Words

One feature I’ve been very impressed with is one which enables you to receive a push notification every time any movement is detected on one of your cameras. This can become a little tiresome after a while if you’ve got a particularly busy cat roaming around at home - as is the case for me - but you’ll also receive a snapshot of whatever the camera detected. It's very interesting!

When movement is detected, Mobiscope will also start recording and you can view the footage at a later time if need be. With such a high level of functionality, this app really does offer an amazing enhancement to your home security and the best thing is that it’s available for free.

One final note is that the app itself runs like a dream and has proven to be very consistently stable with no lagging or crashes to speak of, so this is definitely a must-have app for those of you who are in any way concerned with security.
