Just in time for Halloween is this challenging puzzle game. The point of the game is that you need to escape from a haunted and creepy room by solving a variety of puzzles and finding all the clues and hidden objects you need. I thought this app was going to be easy but boy was I wrong! Instead I’m finding it hard to put down because I keep thinking if I just find one more item or one more clue, maybe I can figure things out.

You aren’t given many instructions other than how to use your hidden objects and really the lack of instructions plays into the challenge of this game in a good way. Sometimes you want something so badly that you become totally immersed and unaware of anything else happening around you.

I have to admit I still haven’t made it out of the first room so I really can’t comment on the rest of the free rooms. There are a number of rooms to escape from so you'll have plenty of variety and a number of puzzles to solve.

 

Graphics and Design

Because the game is so challenging and entertaining, you may not even notice the other aspects of the app right away. Let’s take for example the spooky soundtrack with sound effects that help to set the mood. Many of the objects you tap on offer their own creepy sounds.

The user interface is a very simple design with the majority of the screen being taken up by the actual haunted room. The graphics are really fun and equally scary and I really appreciate all the detail in the room. It’s like the more you look, the more you will notice. I love this kind of design and it also helps make the game feel fresh each time you play because you feel like you’re seeing things for the first time.

Obviously this game is a meant to be scary and creepy although it’s not super scary, younger kids may not be ideal players for this app.
