This app is all about Star Wars-style entertainment. You can ask Vader anything you want whether it be a question or for advice. The app generates a number of answers that will help lead you on your path.

In the app's instruction page it explains its purpose as being able to offer advice from the agent of the Sith. You can ask questions about your work, love life, life in general, school, or your family, whatever you want to discuss. Vader will listen to your question, rather impatiently because he's busy after all, and then offer up an answer.

You have the option to speak or type your question; I prefer typing as I find it allows your question to be understood more accurately. Tap on ask and get ready for a little Vader-style wisdom.

For those who are fans of the movie you’ll recognize many of the “answers” Vader gives as famous quotes from the movies.

 

Not Always a Match

Because the responses are randomly generated don’t expect to actually get answers and advice to your questions but do expect to get a good laugh from the responses. It’s pretty funny that sometimes his random answer actually does fit with your question and seems to make sense.

As for the user interface there are a few bumps here. First off the sound quality isn’t the greatest. Even on full volume the sound still isn’t very loud for Vader’s responses. It sometimes makes it hard to hear the response. There is also a noticeable delay between asking your question and receiving your answer. A couple times I have thought the app was about to crash because the delay is so long and it goes to a black screen.

Speaking of crashing it looks like this is an issue that many users have experienced. I didn’t have this problem myself.

All in all this is a cute app, it’s good for a laugh, but it’s not exactly well done and could definitely do with some fine-tuning.

If you’re looking for a couple laughs with your friends the Star Wars Blu-ray: Ask Vader app can definitely offer them up. This app is just for fun and amusement and by no means offers up state-of-the-art graphics and features.
