Dead Space was voted Best Mobile Game of the Year for the 2011 Meffy Awards.

Console gamers will recognize the name: Dead Space has been around since 2008 and has been terrifying players ever since. It was made available as an iOS game since 2011, introducing a new protagonist, Vandal. Like in the console version, your task is to survive by either running for your life or fighting to kill your enemies.

This is a love-it-or-hate-it game but one thing is for sure: your heart will be pounding, your hands will be sweating, and you’ll be on the edge of your seat.

The controls are straightforward and well-designed. Your left thumb controls the movement of Vandal, while your right thumb or fingers controls weapons or interacts with different objects.

The sound in this game is outstanding: it instills fear just like in a well-orchestrated horror movie.

The app offers Survival Mode, Endless Mode, Story Mode, and 5 Minutes to Kill Mode.

Dead Space was updated to Version 1.3.8 on December 18, 2011. Unfortunately the update appears to have added ads, which is strange considering the price of the app. This dropped the overall rating down from 4.5 out of five stars to four out of five stars, but that’s still a fabulous rating for an app with 1586 customer ratings.

I played this game and I must admit, it made me feel a terror in me I don’t usually experience. I’m not a big horror movie or game fan but the adrenaline from this game really got me addicted. If you love the Dead Space franchise, check out this  action game app while it’s on sale.
